How to measure your greyhound

Measure the circumference of your dog’s head (at the widest point) (No.1 on diagram) and then around the circumference of dog’s base of neck (No.2 on diagram)

 

Measure around the widest part of the chest with is the girth (No. 3 on diagram)

Forming a complete circle

Starting at the shoulder blades, measure lengthwise to the base of the tail (where the tail meets the hind quarters) which is the length (No. 4 on diagram)

 

From the same position at the shoulder blades measure from the top of the forehead (No. 5 on diagram)  (approx. halfway between eyes and ears)

 

Measure from the top of the chest to belly (where the legs meet at its widest girth) (No. 6 on diagram)

 

This last measurement should be 2” from above the foreleg of front leg elbow across the chest plate to the opposite foreleg on the other side getting the dog’s chest width

      (No. 7 on diagram)
